The purpose of this study was to examine 7th-grade composers’ strategies and processes and their perceptions of the process and products they created using music technology in a constructionist-oriented learning environment. Sample student compositions and the full text of this dissertation are posted below.
For this study, 7th-grade composers used Hyperscore software, which is a graphical music application developed at the MIT Media Lab. Below are recordings of some of their compositions. (Click here to view/listen on YouTube.)
